Viable Paradise XVI Background

Last year I had applied to both Uncle Orson’s Literary Bootcamp and Viable paradise. I had attended a somewhat questionable series of workshops previously and felt I had something to offer in my novel I had undertaken. For Uncle Orson’s I had to write a one page beginning to a short. You can see in the previous entries what I had done. It got me in hands down and eventually garnered me a Semi Finalist for Writers of the Future. My very first short and I had placed so well.

For Viable Paradise I used the first twenty pages of my novel. I was rejected and it was devastating. An author needs to learn to deal with rejection and I had my first taste of it. I had heard of VP through Mur Lafferty and her podcast, I should be writing. It had sounded like the perfect thing for me, so to miss out on it was hard to take.

I went to Uncle Orson’s and it helped immensely to advance my writing. I eventually took my one page from there and wrote my first short, which eventually got me into Viable Paradise for this year. I am very excited to advance my career and get this story published. My track record at Writers of the Future is good. A Semi Finalist, Honorable Mention and one Rejection (Held by the previous judge) shows I have something (I hope). This week will be exciting and
